Chef Joachim Koerper has a star-studded career. Having worked in several prestigious French kitchens, this German-born Portuguese chef went on to earn much recognition in his own right, first in Spain, and then in Portugal as the chef of Eleven, the first restaurant in Lisbon to merit a Michelin star in 2005. A master of Mediterranean cuisine, he puts his creativity to work reinventing traditional recipes and constantly seeks out new ways of using fresh local market produce.

Despite the demands of a chemical engineering career, Luis Pato joined in the grape harvest in the 1980s, thus marking the birth of a great wine master. Deeply devoted and leaving nothing to chance, Luis Pato had a direct hand in the renaissance of the very fickle indigenous grape variety known as Baga, earning him the nickname «King of Bairrada.» Fruits of the union of two wellestablished families from Bairrada (the Pato and Melo Campo families), the fifteen wines from the estate run by Luis bridge the gap between the Old and New Worlds.
