Escales gourmandes
Have a bite on the outdoor site!
In a major new addition this year, the outdoor site will tantalize our tastebuds
with the appetizing Escales Gourmandes—gourmet stopovers offering a delectable variety
of flavours for every budget, not to mention some foodie salutes to Wallonia-Brussels!
For example, the delicious aroma of simmering homemade soup will draw you to the
terrasse at
bistro Le Balmoral, a heartwarming broth you can have your way: with mixed
vegetables, chicken, rice or barley… Or do you prefer duck sausage or “Boulettes
de Liège” with a glass of wine? The SAQ Ice Bistro and Bistro Express SAQ
await! In the
Loblaws Spheres, savor a variety of excellent products from Quebec, while
the
RBC Dome offers tastings of wines from the state of Washington and tapas
from caterer Vincent Lafleur. Head to the Place Loblaws kiosks, where you’ll find the “baraque à frites” mini-trailer—a characteristically
Belgian name— courtesy of Frite Alors!, as well as Brussels and Liège waffles. And you can enjoy
delectable Belgian biscuits called “spéculoos” and delicious hot non-alcoholic cranberry
drinks at various spots around the site. And don’t forget the divine treats of the
Maison du chocolat!
February 16 to 19, make way for the renowned Grumman foodtruck and its famed crowd-pleasing
(and gathering!) famed tacos. February 24 to 26, the impromptu “terrasse” of the
Brasserie t!
offers dishes featuring the inimitable Ferme Gaspor milk-fed piglet, while
the F Bar
treats us to its grillades and Portuguese sandwiches.
Finally, you can always quench your thirst at the Balmoral, at the SAQ refreshment points,
at Rickard’s
Bar, the
Porto Cabral kiosk, the
Amarula Bar, the Lait milk bar or Café Jura.
MAISON DU CHOCOLAT
La Maison du
chocolat presents delicious cocoa products, each more delectable than the
last. Two renowned artisan chocolatiers will keep shop and showcase their wares:
Laurent Gerbaud of Brussels will tempt our tastebuds with bars sprinkled with spices,
exotic fruits and nuts, while François Deremiens of Wallonia will delight us with
delicate pralines and little chocolate bonbons.
Outdoor food kiosks:
Loblaws Spheres
In this magnificent winter oasis, visitors can have a seat, relax, warm up, and
discover and taste regional products. In short, it’s the ideal location to recharge
your batteries before heading back out for more celebrating!
Located at the main entrance to the Place des Festivals, Place Loblaws is a natural
gathering point for fans of the culinary experience.
Les tables des Touilleurs - l’exposition
An exhibition bringing together eight chefs, eight restaurants, eight neighbourhoods
and a thousand flavours. An experience to savour, from February 13 to 23, at ARTVstudio,
the new cultural space at the heart of Place des Arts.
