13th Edition | FEBRUARY 16-26, 2012
Wallonia-Brussels, featured regions
Wallonia and Brussels, the capital of Belgium, are the two regions in which the
majority of the francophone population of the country is found. In Wallonia, you
can travel in mere minutes from city to country, from industrial zones to huge rural
expanses, dotted with quiet little villages, farms, impressive castles dating from
the medieval era and abbeys that remind us of the origins of the national drink
of Belgium: beer! And then it’s on to Brussels, a cosmopolitan city featuring stunning
architecture and a passion for comics, history and art.
If beer, chocolate, moules-frites and waffles are emblematic of Belgium,
the guest chefs presiding over the kitchens of our Finest Tables will show you there’s
much more to the country’s cuisine! Come and discover the richness and diversity
of contemporary Wallonian and Brussels gastronomy. They will also be showcased during
two major events in Belgium: Brusselicious 2012, A Year of Gastronomy, and La Wallonie
des Saveurs 2012-2013.
