A leading global figure in opera for over 30 years now, brilliant soprano Barbara Hendricks has performed on the world’s greatest stages, from l’Opéra de Paris to the Metropolitan Opera in New York to La Scala in Milan, singing under the baton of the most illustrious of maestros, including Leonard Bernstein and Herbert von Karajan. To celebrate this 15th anniversary, the festival is thrilled to welcome the remarkable artist who make a tremendous impression here in 2002—the year of her honorary co-presidency—and in 2004. She brings us a program consisting of Fauré, Schönberg, Brahms and Kurt Weill, accompanied by globally-renowned Swedish pianist Love Derwinger, who has performed with the world’s greatest orchestras and recorded some twenty albums.
